That title might make you think I’ll be wearing lingerie or swimwear. Sorry people, today’s title is taken from a song; Beneath Your Beautiful – from Labrinth feat. Emeli Sande. I’ve been listening to this song as I was searching for what I need to write in here. As I’m doing Avatar Blogger Month challenge, I know I just can’t post anything without writing about something. I know Strawberry Singh’s Meme might have something that I can write about.

I’ve decided to do SL Names Meme because it provides the basic thing about my avi; my name.

1. What’s your SL name? Nieve Thor (people+me always pronounce as Niv Thor. I have yet heard the correct Spanish pronounciation *blush*)
2. What made you choose this name? I was looking translation for the word “Snow” in various language and I really like “Nieve”. FYI, Snow is my Harry Potter-RP first name. Thor is the surname I found while register my account — Snow and Thunder can be deadly if you happen to be at the place at the wrong time
3. What’s your SL nickname, or what do most people call you? (if applicable) Twin (only few people is allow to call me this — none of my SL family allow to call me Twin)
4. What’s your SL display name? Why do you choose to have one? (if applicable) I don’t have one.
5. Do you like your SL name? Yup
6. If you could change your SL name, what would it be? Hmm..let me check back with my name list, I used to have tons because RP….now I think I just use  ”Honey Bun”
7. What’s the craziest/funniest SL name you’ve ever seen? Any names which actually procrastination word in any Asia’s languages (as long I understand the word). I can’t say it here.

ABM Post 2 – A bit of RL & SL

It took me another 2 days to do post no. 2 for this month. I was thinking to do this picture yesterday but I was so busy with my rl stuff. RL stuff on that day was doing new earrings and playing with my latest jewelry tools which just came by courier. Yup I do make jewelry in RL but never in SL. I know some designer able to do both item in RL and SL. I like jewelry in SL but I don’t have steady hands and fingers to do them in SL. First of all, I’m still struggling even to do basic 3d prims either in Maya or Blender. I’m not used with the menu plus how to slice and dice those prims. Secondly, I couldn’t feel the wire in between my fingers as I weave, warp, twist and turn them.

As for SL, I have some items I got from The Arcade. I went there on their opening day. I didn’t manage to get it but I able to do cam shopping from neighbouring sim. This is what I do to make me able to go shopping there :

• I use Niran Viewer. I use Firestorm for my day-to-day work in sl but when it comes to picture and crowded places, Niran is the best for me (please use viewer that you are comfortable with).
• If I use Firestorm in crowded sim, I always set my graphic either low or medium. Never ever on ultra.
• If I use Niran, I just disable my shadow.
• I seldom use particle. If you like to use particle, please set it to zero.
• Set Max Avatar less than 5. Sorry people, I know you have a lot of lovely clothes on you but I don’t want to overkill my viewer and pc. If you want to walk around without accidentally pushing other people, Mini Map is there to give you some guidelines. If you want to find your friends in those crowded place, just follow their dots
• If you have advance menu on (Ctrl + Alt + D), you can disable some basic rendering types (Rendering -> Type). What do you want more, able to walk around shopping or look at pretty sky? I always disable clouds, water, ground, trees and grass. Well most event nowadays held up 3000m above the sky. You don’t need those water and ground to begin with. As for trees, I don’t know which sim/place still using Linden trees and grass. As for clouds, most places is in a big skybox plus do you really stare at sl cloud when you do shopping or look at the item.
• You can disable some of rendering feature (Rendering -> Feature) such as fog and foot shadow.
• Wear less scripted item on you. Who ever around you will thank you more. Usually I left my jewelry safe inside my inventory rather on me.
• Since I stated earlier that  I shopped from neighbour sim, first thing and foremost, you need to find the neighbour sim that allow you to fly because the event is 3000m above the sky and no draw distance allow me to do that high.
• Set my draw distance more than 120m.

Avatar Blogger Month & My Inventory

When I first saw this post; Avatar Blogger Month, where avatar blogger — whether you’re from SL, IMVU, OpenSim or any form of virtual word, as long you’re blogging as your avatar you can join in. At first, I was thinking whether I should or should not do it, or can I able to do it. I know today is already 4th June and I owe 3 more post — minus this post — I’m trying to keep up with my post. Since I really want to keep up with my blog and my inventory, so why not.

Speaking of my inventory the last time I did some clean up, it reached 47,700. With The Arcade and faMESHed just started last weekend, I thought it has gone up but it has gone down to 46,928. Well this is basic thing I do :

• Making sure I delete at least 100 item per day. Well you can make a pio
• Deleting all store ads especially the old one or I already know about their sales and sales location.
• Deleting old styling folder in the Outfits folder. Each time you save up your new style. It will store a link for every single item you wear for that style, and each of those link will contribute to your inventory counter. I have a lot f this folder ever since it was introduced to me. With name based on the runway shows, event, contest or just based on the date I created the styling.
• Delete all script that has the word unpack and delete me. It stated delete me so you can delete them. Please don’t keep them as souvenir unless you want to study the programing used for that particular script — which I doubt since most of those script is unmodified.
• I only keep 1 shoe base and 1 alpha layer for fatpack shoes that I own. Since I keep the original packaging, I can always store back those layer if necessary –unless the shoes is non-copy. I also keep only 1 vendor ads pic that came with the shoes (unless it has picture for every colour of those shoes).

Thank you to Nat who suggested this title. It’ s befitting since I took this picture at Island of Lost Dream sim. I found it from Ziki’s blog. Yup Ziki’s blog has become one of my guilty pleasure. Fyi, this sim is a roleplayer sim. I’m bad at rp but I love to dress up and taking pictures. You still can visit this sim by joining the visitor group; ILD Visitor. Make sure you also wear the tp hud which provided at the landing point. Well that hud doesn’t show landmark or main places around the sim but sort like passport for you to enter their main gate. Since this sim is new to me, I’ve been like wandering blindly at the main marketplace area which just near to the landing point. The staff really help me out by pointing to the location I want to go. Thank you Sehania By the way, ILD sim owner; Cherudek, told me that they have rp class for people who wants to join rp but don’t know where to start. I love this location because it has magnificent view of the mountains, the castle and the nearby village.

Miamai Protagoniste Vanity

As for my clothes, I bought it during Fantasy Faire. Yup I’m guilty as charge for buying things but taking so much time to wear it and let alone blog it. *blush* but it also a bless because a week after that, Maxi Gossamer sold this beautiful necklace set at Fameshed, and a day before I decided to snap this picture, Miamai release another eye system set called Vanity. It comes with mesh eyes, eyelashes, extra eyelashes, eyeliner, feather and gem eye decoration. For this outfit, I only switch on the mesh eyes, extra eyelashes and gem eye decoration.
